Attacks on healthcare in Syria

Subsequent to the alleged chemical weapon attack in Syria on Tuesday, which has so far claimed the lives of 72 people, the hospital treating the victims was hit by an airstrike. Using data collected by Physicians for Human Rights, the infographic below shows that this was in no way an isolated incident. Since the war began in April 2011, there have been over 450 attacks on medical facilities in the country, with the lives of almost 800 medical personnel being taken.
