Le Pen is leading the French presidential race

During the recent televised presidential election debate, French far-right candidate Marine Le Pen proclaimed that she doesnt want to be the president of some “vague region of the European Union” or “the vice chancellor of Ms Merkel". According to the latest opinion polls, Le Pen has a slight lead in the presidential race. However, she is expected to be defeated in the second round of the election by Emmanuel Macron.
