Restaurant closures for hygiene reasons in 2017

Last year, 52 Irish restaurants were forced to close due to hygiene related reasons. These ranged from vermin being spotted on the kitchen floor to just a general level of filthiness. TheJournal.ie carried out an analysis of Ireland's dirtiest restaurants of 2017 and some counties had more than others. Unsurprisngly, Dublin had the most closures, 17. On average, the order to close was lifted after 15.4 days. Cork came second in the dirty league, followed by Donegal.
