Infrastructure
The Worst Roads in the USA
The American Society of Civil Engineers 2017 infrastructure report card has revealed the states in the U.S. with the worst roads. At the top of the list is DC with a shameful 93 percent of its roads classified as being in poor condition. Pothole-ridden roads aren't merely an annoyance, either. The ASCE estimates that motorists in seventh-placed Connecticut will incur annual costs of $2.4 billion as a direct result of driving on the state's 21,544 miles of road. While some states (Oregon - 8%) barely have any roads in shoddy condition, overall as a country, the USA was given a 'must do better' D grade on the latest scorecard.
