PVV popular but not among young voters
On March 15, 2017, voters in the Netherlands will elect a new parliament. Geert Wilders' Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV), Prime Minister Mark Rutte's VVD and GroenLinks are currently leading the polls. The most recent poll by opinion pollster Maurice de Hond (on February 19, 2017) shows that 19 percent of the respondents are planning to vote PVV, 16 percent are favoring VVD and 12 percent GroenLinks.
Maurice de Hond's poll included an interesting closer look at the most popular political parties by age group, showing that Geert Wilders' PVV is especially popular among those aged between 35 and 64 years old, whereas the GroenLinks electorate can mainly be found among those younger than 35 years old.
