Over 50 Lawsuits Have Already Been Filed Against Trump

Donald Trump is already facing over 50 lawsuits after just two weeks in the White House. That's 10 times the average of the three presidents who preceded him. Most of them are related to his controversial executive order banning travel into the U.S. for citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries. That was blocked by Seattle's federal judge on Friday, a development Trump has lambasted on Twitter ever since.

Legal action against the travel ban was filed in 17 different states by doctors, professors, students, refugees and Iraqis who worked together with the U.S. military. A total of 40 lawsuits were brought against the travel ban, nine were related to civil rights and four were about general immigration. A further lawsuit was also filed about financial conflicts of interest and federal funds to sanctuary cities, according to PACER data published by NPR.

At the same early stage of his presidency, five lawsuits were filed against Bill Clinton. After two weeks, George W. Bush had to deal with four while Barack Obama had five. Trump could go down as leading the most-sued US administration in American history if the lawsuits keep flowing in at this rapid pace.
