The Biggest December Opening Weekends Ever

Rogue One opened this weekend to generally good reviews and very positive box office takings. When looking at North American opening weekends in the traditionally strong month of December, the latest entry in the Star Wars franchise is second only to its stablemate 'The Force Awakens' which grossed almost 250 million U.S. dollars upon its release last December. Rogue one pulled in an estimated 155 million and looks set to be a huge commercial success for franchise owner Disney.
