On Monday, Donald Trump tweeted that "the F-35 program and its costs are out of control". He went on, saying that "billions of dollars can and will be saved on military purchases" once he becomes president. The costs of the F-35 program have indeed spiralled out of control but cancelling it at this late stage could prove a tall order for Mr. Trump.
