France 2017

Road ahead looking clear for François Fillon

Last night, François Fillon won the run off in the centre-right primary for the French presidential election in 2017. According to a Harris Interactive poll of over six thousand French adults, the road to the presidency is currently looking pretty clear. After winning the first round, Fillon is expected to proceed to the final stage of voting with far-right leader Marine Le Pen. Here, the final steps towards power currently look like plain sailing with a 67 to 33 percent win. Of course, if 2016 has taught us anything, it's that polls are currently far from reliable when it comes to politics.
