Total Recall
Incidents of Overheating Samsung Smartphones in the USA
The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has had to recall its brand new Galaxy Note 7 for the second time since it was launched just over a month ago. The United States is one of Samsung's most important markets. According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), about one million devices are possibly affected in America.
"Samsung has received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the US, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage," the CPSC writes on its website. CNN reports that up to 2.5 million gadgets could be affected worldwide. American mobile networks sell the Note 7 for at least $850. Mobile and IT hardware is the biggest segment at Samsung, but not the only one.
