How Americans View Potential First Ladies

Melania Trump was heavily criticised after her speech on the opening night of the Republican National Convention appeared to plagiarize Michelle Obama. The embarrassing affair cast a shadow over her husband's Republican coronation. Prior to the convention, Gallup found that Melania Trump's image is less popular than other potential first ladies down through the years. The Slovenian-born former supermodel was viewed favorably by 28 percent of American adults while 32 percent viewed her unfavorably. The following infographic shows how that compares with other potential first ladies since Gallup started their measurements in 1992.
