The grim cost of the war in Iraq
Earlier this week, the Chilcot report on Britain's involvement in the Iraq War revealed that Tony Blair overstated the threat posed by Saddam Hussein. Britain also sent troops into battle who were not properly prepared and that there were no plans in place for the aftermath of the invasion. 179 British soldiers died in the conflict, along with 4,491 of their American allies. Civilian deaths between 2003 and 2016 are estimated to be in the region of 179,000. Read more on the indy100.
