Beware Snapchat Users: Your Parents Are Coming
Ever since its rise to fame, Snapchat has mainly be known as a messaging app used by teenagers and college kids who had enough of their parents stalking them on Facebook. Now it seems like fun time is about to be over as more and more older users are trying out the popular app themselves.
According to comScore data, the percentage of 25- to 34-year-old smartphone users in the United States who use Snapchat has risen from 5 percent three years ago to 38 percent in April 2016. Even for smartphone users aged 35 years and older, Snapchat is no longer uncharted territory. From a business point of view, it is probably a good thing for Snapchat that its user base is slowly growing up. After all, potential advertisers like to target an audience that actually has money to spend.
