Nokia Tumbles Deeper
Today Nokia released its sales figures for the second quarter of 2012. According to the numbers, the struggle of the former number one in the smartphone business continues. Compared to Q2 2011, Nokia’s net sales fell by 19%. Losses of around 1.5 billion Euros were also significantly higher compared to last year's second quater. Nokia’s downslide is especially obvious in the case of its mobile devices business. Net sales recently caved in significantly. The reason for this development is the declining number of sold devices. 111 million smartphones and feature phones were sold in the second quarter of 2010. A year later the number was 83.7 million - a deep plunge.
