The UK trails Europe in holiday allowance

Where in Europe do employees have the most statutory paid annual leave? A recent report shows that Spain offers the most in total, at 36 days. In comparison, UK employers are must give a relatively paltry 28. In fact, according to Glassdoor, the United Kingdom ranked in the bottom three of Europe for unemployment benefit, parental entitlements, annual leave and sick pay.

Putting this in perspective, however, the U.S. offers zero days paid annual leave as standard, and zero paid public holidays. This graphic was recently featured on The Independent.
