Europe's Most Dangerous Jobs
According to a recently released report from Eurostat, 3,515 people died across the European Union in 2012 (the most recent year data is available) due to accidents at work. When it comes to breaking those deaths down by occupation, construction comes first, accounting for 22.2 percent of the total. Manufacturing is in second place with 16.6 percent while transportation and storage rounds off the top three with just over 14 percent. Interestingly, 8.8 percent of all occupational deaths in the EU in 2012 were in the wholesale and retail sector.
