Americans Struggle To Escape The Office On Vacation

According to a Tripadvisor survey, Americans struggle to escape the office when they go on vacation. 77 percent of employed U.S. respondents admitted they had worked on vacation over the past year compared to just 40 percent in the other nations polled - Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain and the UK.

The majority of people said their primary reason for working on vacation was that urgent business could require their attention. 91 percent of U.S. respondents check their work emails on vacation compared to the global average of 65 percent. 42 percent of Americans even create and edit documents instead of enjoying their time off.
