Size Matters: Chain Hotels in Europe Have an Economic Advantage

According to the findings of the 2024 European Accommodation Barometer survey, there is one notable difference in the way independent properties and chains assess their own businesses development and economic situation - chains consistently report more positive sentiment across all economic indicators than their independent hotel countreparts. For instance, 77% of chain hotels report that their current economic situation is good or very good, compared to only 59% of independent hotels.

This and other insights regarding the European travel accommodation sector are included in the 2024 European Accommodation Barometer, the fourth study of hoteliers conducted by Statista in collaboration with Booking.com, surveying accommodation executives and managers from across Europe.
