Where Hoteliers Feel Most Threatened by Climate Change

In the 2024 edition of the European Accommodation Barometer, the study has revealed that 41% of European hoteliers believe that climate change will have a high or very high impact on their business in the next 3 years. This concern was more pronounced in Nordic countries and the low-lying Netherlands, as well as in Southern Europe, which has been hit hard by droughts and forest fires in recent years. Portugal showed the greatest level of concern in Europe, with a substantial 59% of respondents anticipating a high impact from climate change in the near future.

This and other insights regarding the European travel accommodation sector are included in the 2024 European Accommodation Barometer, the fourth study of hoteliers conducted by Statista in collaboration with Booking.com, surveying accommodation executives and managers from across Europe.
