Are We Heading in the Wrong Direction?
With only a few days left before the General Elections are held in Spain on July 23, this infographic shows what citizens think about the current direction of the country.
In what perhaps should be an unsettling result for Spain's incumbent leader, 71% of those surveyed in Spain in the spring edition of Eurobarometer think that things in the country are not going in the right direction, compared to 20% who think they are. This percentage of negative responses is higher than the EU average (61%), with Spain being one of the six Member States along with Slovakia (75%), Greece (74%), France (73%), Croatia (71%) and Sweden (71%) where a higher percentage of people think their country is on the wrong track.
The Eurobarometer also asked residents in Spain how important it is for them to vote in general elections, to which 68% of respondents said that voting is of great importance to them, considering it a key duty as citizens.
