World Sleep Day 2023

How Popular Are Sleep Tracking Apps

The market for mobile health monitoring apps saw a flurry of activity through the pandemic. While these apps do not replace medical check-ups, many people now use their mobile phones to measure their heart rate, menstrual cycle, glucose levels and to track the quality of their sleep.

When it comes to the latter, there comes a wide range of apps designed to help users better understand their nighttime health and how to build habits that help you fall asleep. According to data from Statista Consumer Insights, nearly a quarter of online survey respondents in India and China said they had used sleep monitoring apps in the 12 months prior to the survey. Meanwhile in the United States, some 15 percent of adults said they used apps such as Sleep Cycle and Sleep Time.
