So far in 2014, civil war ravaged Syria has proven the deadliest country in the world for journalists. As of October 29, 2014, 10 journalists have lost their lives there. Iraq and Ukraine are tied for second spot with 5 deaths each. You can read more in Statista's latest Independent feature.
