Where ‘D’ the Nutrient Seekers Reside

Around eight in ten (79 percent) of the people surveyed for Statista’s Global Consumer Survey in the United Kingdom said that they took food supplements in 2023. Of these, vitamins were the most popular, with 67 percent of respondents saying that they had used them in the last twelve months. Proteins and minerals were the next most popular forms of food supplements, with 27 percent and 24 percent of respondents having taken them, respectively. As our chart shows, vitamin consumption is even higher in several other countries, including South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil and the United States. These are all trumped by Poland, however, where 82 percent of respondents said they take the supplements.
