Wordle Holding Interest After Initial Hype

When Wordle burst into our lives late last year, experiencing a truly rapid rise to fame, no one could really know if the hype would soon subside and the word-guessing game would fade into obscurity almost as quickly as it had emerged. The New York Times certainly saw enough substance behind the hype though, buying the rights to the game from its creator for a price "in the low seven figures”.

Since then, according to Google Search trends data, although the hype has naturally settled down since a peak of interest in January and February, interest is clearly being held.
