Fossil Fuels? No Thanks

What do people in South Africa, China and Brazil have in common? In all these countries, people attach above-average importance to shifting away from fossil fuels in favor of climate-friendly and sustainable energy. This is the result of a study conducted by Ipsos for the World Economic Forum. More than 22,000 people in 30 countries were surveyed - 84 percent of which are in favor of phasing out the burning of gas, coal and oil.

However, there are also countries in which a significant proportion of respondents do not yet want to turn their backs on fossil fuels. This applies for example to the United Kingdom, and especially to the United States and Russia. In view of the current record inflation rates, however, the last word on this subject has probably not yet been spoken. If energy prices continue to rise, 55 percent of the participants believe that this will have an impact on their purchasing power.
