How Much Does It Cost to Open a Subway Franchise?
The cost of opening a Subway restaurant – one of the most popular franchise models around the world – varies widely depending on the location and size of the branch. According to cost ranges listed by Subway, even the lowest possible cost associated with opening a franchise location in Singapore surpasses that of most other countries. In the UK, the span of possible costs was one of the largest and the maximum potential cost associated with the undertaking exceeded the equivalent of $300,000 – higher than in most other countries.
Opening a Subway branch in China was comparatively cheaper, with only around $123,000 of upfront costs listed by the company. In India, the estimate ranged between $82,000 and $162,000. The cost cited for European countries was similar to that of U.S. branches at a minimum cost of around $116,000 and a maximum cost of around $260,000. Canadian franchise starters could look forward to lower costs.
The franchise fee itself only made up a fraction of the total cost associated with the venture. This cost was highest in the U.S. and Canada at $15,000.
The company does not list specific prices for Latin American and African countries. The calculations exclude non-traditional locations, for example those integrated into the premises of another business.
Saturday marks Franchise Appreciation Day.
