New privacy policy
WhatsApp ?!
Users of the WhatsApp messaging service have until May 15 to accept its updated privacy policy. If they don't, they risk living a “WhatsApp Lite” life as WhatsApp will gradually stop you from calling or messaging contacts.
The new privacy policy was originally planned the be rolled out in February, but was delayed by three months due to the controversy surrounding it. In the meantime, the messenger service owned by Facebook tried to reassure users that the update was focused on messaging with businesses and would not affect personal conversations.
As data from the Statista Global Consumer Survey show, WhatsApp is particularly popular in Brazil, with 98% of respondents stating they use it regularly. While the messenger service seems to be a little less in demand in the UK, France and Sweden, only 25 % of U.S. adults declared that they used it regularly.
