Khan commands strong lead in London mayoral election race
With a little under a month to go before the London mayoral election, incumbent Sadiq Khan is looking to be in a very strong position in the polls. According to the latest survey by YouGov, the Labour candidate would receive almost half of the vote in round one, while a face-off with the Conservative Shaun Bailey would potentially see the current mayor win with a two-thirds majority in round two.
Reclaim Party candidate Laurence Fox has garnered a fair amount of media attention since announcing his election run, but not necessarily for the right reasons. He is currently sitting on 9 percent of the intended vote when excluding those who would not vote, don't know, or refused to answer. The introduction of new candidates has pulled Khan's and Bailey's projected share of the votes down since the last survey, both losing four points.
