A data center is generally defined as a building or group of buildings used to house computer systems, particularly components for telecommunications and storage. The Cloudscene platform lists just over 7,500 data centers as being operation worldwide as of February 2021 but were are they located?

The United States is home to the highest number, 2,653, or 35 percent of the global total. There is a considerable gap back to the second placed country which is the United Kingdom with 451.
