Two Thirds of Americans Blame Trump for Capitol Riots

A new survey by Ipsos shows that two thirds of Americans think that outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump carried either a good or a great deal of the blame for the rioting that ensued on the capitol grounds in Washington D.C. last week. 67 percent said so in a survey carried out on Friday and Saturday among 570 respondents 18 years and older.

Partisan differences prevailed in the survey, but while only 2 percent of Democrats were willing to let Trump off the hook, 31 percent of Republicans still thought Trump carried at least a good deal of the blame. Among Independents, 69 percent agreed that Trump had a substantial role in inciting the violence that left one policemen dead and 60 more injured. Four protestors also lost their lives. According to information currently available, two succumbed to medical emergencies not directly related to the riots.
