LeBron Wins Fourth Finals MVP
With the Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Miami Heat on Sunday to win an NBA championship, LeBron James adds another Finals win to his already illustrious championship pedigree. This fourth win also notched him his fourth Finals MVP, putting him in a solid second place for the most Finals MVPs by a single player since the award was established in 1969.
LeBron’s fourth Finals MVP puts him squarely behind the legendary Michael Jordan, who won six Finals MVP awards during his impeccable tenure with the Chicago Bulls. While LeBron still has a ways to go before catching up with perhaps the greatest player of all time, his latest MVP trophy puts him ahead of other Lakers legends like Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal – each with three. Tim Duncan, who led the San Antonio Spurs dynasty over almost two decades, is the other player with three Finals MVPs.
