The European Union has been making steady progress in its bid to reduce CO2 emissions from vehicles. Indeed, Europe has actually met its targets for CO2 emissions from new vehicles two years early. That target was 130 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre and the average level of emissions for a new car sold in 2013 was just 127 grams.
