Americans Worried About Finances, Others During Coronavirus Outbreak

According to a survey by Elon University in North Carolina, Americans do worry about those around them during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Almost 60 percent of U.S. adults said that they worried about spreading the virus to others, ahead of 57 percent who said they worried about falling critically ill themselves. The biggest worry for Americans was that for family members, since most people have elderly relatives or those with pre-existing conditions for whom COVID-19 can have devastating consequences.

Almost three-quarters of Americans also worried about financial hardship due to the coronavirus as many people have been losing jobs, gigs or income sources and many do not qualify for assistance.
