COVID-19

How Britain is reacting to the coronavirus

As the number of confirmed cases gradually starts to increase in the UK, the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus are starting to make themselves felt around the country as people start to prepare for a possible outbreak. Still, at this relatively early stage the majority of Brits have so far taken no specific measures to protect themselves from the virus.

As this infographic shows, a recent YouGov survey revealed that 35 percent of adults in Great Britain say they have taken steps to improve their personal hygiene in an effort to protect themselves over the past two weeks. The next two most common changes were reportedly avoiding crowded public spaces and refraining from touching objects in public - such as door handles and lift buttons. Most though have done nothing, with 54 percent of respondents still seemingly unfazed by the outbreak.
