Who will win the Labour leadership contest?

The search for a new Labour leader is underway after a disastrous election brought an end to the Corbyn era. With Jess Phillips stepping down from the contest earlier today, there are currently four contenders for the leadership of the party - and one clear favourite among Labour party members. According to a YouGov poll simulating the election process (conducted before Phillips' pulled out), Shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer would be the candidate to emerge victorious. defeating Rebecca Long-Bailey in the third or fourth round of voting. Once we see where the Jess Phillips votes are likely to go, we'll give you an update of the projection.
