Christmas

The Christmas Tree Scent Is Now Rare In American Homes

Have you already found the perfect Christmas tree? For many American families, the perfect tree is still stored in the attic or cellar, primed for an instantaneous and stress-free appearance for the holiday season. While a plastic tree certainly negates the hassle of buying an unwieldy, heavy and prickly pine, some families can't look beyond the real thing. They are a distinct minority in the U.S. today, however, with a recent YouGov poll finding that only 15 percent of people plan on buying a real tree this holiday season.

The artificial option is the overwhelming favorite these days and 38 percent of Americans say they are going to use a plastic one which they already own this year. 11 percent of those polled said they will buy a new plastic tree in time for the holidays. Just over a quarter of Americans, 26 percent, say they won't have any Christmas tree this year.
