The World's Youngest State Leaders

Finnish Transport Minister Sanna Marin has been selected to become the leader of the Social Democratic Party, making her the country's youngest-ever prime minister. The 34-year-old will be sworn in this week and she will also become the world's youngest-serving prime minister when she takes office. She will lead a centre-left coalition of five parties who are all led by women.

The following infographic provides an overview of the world's youngest-serving leaders. Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk is 35 while New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, is 39. Further down the list, Irish Taoiseach/Prime Minister Leo Varadkar is 40.
