Survey: Is Trump's Ukraine Call a Serious Problem?

The situation is developing at a rapid pace. Since The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, announced the formal start of an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The basis of which is a whistleblower complaint which claims Trump has "used the power of his office to solicit interference from (Ukraine) in the 2020 U.S. election".

The focus has been on a 25 July phone call Trump had with his Ukrainian counterpart, President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which the U.S. president is said to have "pressured Zelensky to initiate or continue an investigation into the activities of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter". As a new survey by Ipsos for ABC News shows, a majority of the U.S. public agrees with the whistleblower regarding the seriousness of the problems raised by the call. 64 percent of respondents said they think Trump 'encouraging' these actions is 'very serious', while 21 percent say it is 'somewhat serious'.
