California Tops America’s Millionaire League

Across the United States, there are 304,118 millionaires, roughly equivalent to the population of Iceland. Silicon Valley and Wall Street have propelled California and New York into first and second place in America’s millionaire league.

California has a grand total of 45,109 millionaires while New York has 38,240. Texas rounds off the top three with 27,347. These figures were released by the Internal Revenue Service based on 2011 tax returns.
