Where America's Students Are In Debt

Given how much the student debt crisis is discussed in the United States, it sometimes feels like it's impossible for someone to obtain a third-level education without getting "a debt sentence" afterwards. According to LendEdu's Student Loan Debt by School by State Report, the share of 2018 graduates with student loan debts actually varies considerably between states and it's at its lowest in Utah at 36 percent. The state with the highest share of graduates in debt is New Hampshire at 76 percent.
