EU: Who's using the internet?
The popular subreddit r/oldpeoplefacebook provides a lighthearted and amusing example of how virtually everyone is online nowadays. But, as new figures from the UK's Office for National Statistics and Eurostat reveal, this is actually far from the case in a lot of countries in the European Union.
There are of course a lot more factors affecting internet usage than merely age, and among those between 16 and 74 years old, the country in the EU with seemingly the most barriers to online access is Bulgaria where only 65 percent said that they had used the internet within the last three months. At the other end of the scale, Denmark has a rate of 98 percent.
