UK European election results

As expected, Nigel Farage's Brexit Party emerged as the major winners of the European elections last night - with a 32 percent share of the vote (371 of 373 counts complete). Confirming the widespread rejection of Labour and the Conservatives, the pro-EU Liberal Democrats are in second place with 20 percent - an increase of 13.4 percent on the 2014 result. The biggest losses were suffered by the Conservatives (-14.9 percent) and UKIP (-24.2 percent), with large proportions of their 2014 voters migrating to the newly formed Brexit Party.
