1.7 million sign petition against suspending parliament

In March, a petition to revoke Article 50 and cancel Brexit collected over five million signatures on the UK government's website. In fact, the volume of traffic on the website was so great that it crashed on multiple times. Theresa May of course rejected the message of the petition citing worries that cancelling Brexit would cause "potentially irreparable damage to public trust". The latest Brexit-related petition to amass large numbers of signatures is aimed at Boris Johnson's proroguing of parliament in a bid to force through the country's exit from the EU at any cost.

As of this morning, there are over 1.7 million signatures on the list, making it the second most-popular petition of recent times, according to government tracking. The two million mark is expected to be reached at some point this evening.
