Las Vegas Residencies
Celine Dion Is the Undisputed Queen of Las Vegas
Following in the footsteps of all-time greats such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, British singer and former Take That member Robbie Williams will kick off his first residency in Las Vegas on Wednesday night at Wynn Las Vegas.
Having sold more than 77 million records, Williams won 13 BRIT awards as a solo artist, making him one of the most successful artists of the late 1990s and early 2000s. While Americans never quite warmed to him the way Europeans did, the former boy group star now has the chance to win them over. He will perform 15 shows in Las Vegas between March and July, probably netting him a nice sum to add to his pension fund.
While it is unknown how much Williams will be paid for his Las Vegas shows, his female colleagues Celine Dion and Britney Spears reportedly make around $500,000 per show, which only sounds outlandish until you look at the ticket sales their Vegas shows have generated over the years.
According to Billboard, Celine Dion is the queen of modern-day residencies in Sin City with her last two shows “A New Day” and “Celine” grossing $385 and $245 million, respectively.
