Colorado’s Ski Slopes Welcome an Avalanche of People

When the ski season kicks off in the United States, people flock to the state of Colorado. The incredible slopes of the Southern Rocky Mountains and plentiful snowfalls have helped make Colorado the skiing capital of the United States.

It is so popular in fact that four of the country’s five most popular ski resorts are located there. Vail Mountain is America’s most popular ski resort, welcoming 1.6 million visitors each year. Breckenridge comes a close second while Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in California rounds off the top three with over 1.1 million annual visitors.
