2018 Nobel Laureates Are Some of the Youngest and Oldest

The Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony is taking place today in Oslo, while the Nobel Prize ceremony will take place in Stockholm. The youngest Nobel Laureate to date was Malala Yousafzai, who won the Peace Prize in 2014 at the age 17. Nadia Murad is the third youngest winner and shares the Peace Prize this year at age 25 for her work in human rights.

Arthur Ashkin, who is being awarded for his work in Physics this year, is the oldest winner of the prize. Ashkin is winning the award this year at age 96. Leonid Hurwicz is the second oldest winner at 90, winning in the Economic Sciences category in 2007.
