Holiday Music
U.S. Teens Less Likely to Rock Around the Christmas Tree
Considering that holiday music is often mistakenly reduced to a couple of evergreens, it’s easy to underestimate the appeal of seasonal tunes to young people. According to Nielsen’s Music 360 report, the popularity of holiday music is in no way limited to older people, however, with millennials surprisingly fond of the jingle bell rock.
According to Nielsen’s findings, 36 percent of Americans who said that they often listen to holiday music are aged between 18 and 34, making millennials the largest group among holiday music fans. While Christmas does seem to have the potential to bridge generations in terms of musical taste, that magical power doesn’t apply to the youngest Americans. Those aged under 18 only account for 8 percent of holiday music fans.
