Expats
London Calling
Expat life, what a life. Shopping in London’s Camden Town, jogging in New York’s Central Park or strolling along the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The choice is yours, where would you move? For Europeans taking part in this Intelligence Group survey, the answer is clear: London it is! With over a quarter of the votes, the capital of the United Kingdom was voted the most popular city to work in, just before New York and Paris.
With two cities in the top ten, the United States and Spain proved particularly popular expat destinations. Germany, Statista’s home turf, did not fare bad either, with both Berlin and Munich voted among the top 15. That Vienna, chosen as the most livable city in the world by the Economist earlier this year, is included in this list as well is no surprise either. However, Melbourne (Australia) and Osaka (Japan), the numbers two and three of the most livable cities ranking respectively, are nowhere to be found on the list of favorite cities to work in among Europeans. Instead, when they chose to work abroad, Europeans prefer to make Sydney or Tokyo their new home.
