Young People See Hope for Future

A recent study conducted by Ipsos surveyed how people across the globe are thinking about their future. Youth, or those aged 12 to 17, were more optimistic about their future than people over the age of 18 were.

Kenya was the most optimistic country followed by China and Brazil. In Kenya, nearly all surveyed youth thought that their future living conditions would be better. Many researchers attribute the high level of optimism among young people in Kenya to the majority they hold in day to day life. In Kenya, people under 35 make up about 80 percent of the population.

Germany, the United Kingdom, and France ranked towards the bottom. Only around a quarter of German adults felt that their future living conditions would become better.
