Lunar Eclipse

The Big Lunar Eclipse Of 2018

Skygazers are getting excited around the world with the longest "blood moon" eclipse of the 21st Century set to occur tonight. Where the phenonemon is visible, the moon will turn red or brown as it rises before becoming completely obscured. Some of the eclipse should be visible from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, much of Asia and South America.

Skygazers in the UK should be on alert for the eclipse between 9pm and 10:15pm. The event will be extra special because it will coincide with Mars coming close to Earth. People watching the night sky might also catch a glimpse of Venus, Jupiter and Saturn.
